Day 37: Lake Tekapo - Methven

After such a long and full day yesterday I opted for a much easier day today. Late breakfast followed by a trip out to Lake Alexandrina, where the locals were very friendly.

Then a trip back up to the café at Mt. John Observatory for lunch and to enjoy the view.

Next was the 2 hour drive to Methven, which seems to be a very lively little mountain sports village in the winter but right now it's very quiet.

What Methven does have though is a great little boutique cinema house - Cinema Paradiso - run by Richard who sat and chatted and showed me around after I'd watched The Hobbit in their 36 seat salon. Wonderful cinematic experience.

Couldn't have wished to see The Hobbit in a better location.

A much easier but still very special day and out of respect for Sir Peter Jackson I won't even attempt a "panorama of the day".
