Canterbury tales

I'll be doing my best during the trip to keep abreast of what's on in the locality. Looks like tomorrow I could be missing a cracking event. It's the annual Trotting Cup in nearby Canterbury. Crowd limit is set at 25,000 and there are all sorts of steps in place by the local police to make sure things don't "get out of hand".

Alcohol ban around the course perimeter, behaviour guidelines, 220 security guards, free sunscreen... Then they've gone and invited Shane Warne, former Aussie test cricketer, to be guest of honour. I hope for their sake Shane charges by the minute, because with those prerequisites I can't imagine him hanging around for too long ;)
